|Floyd Lee Freeze, Jr., 74, of Shenandoah, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Whispering Pines in Luray.
Mr. Freeze was born April 6, 1940 in Shenandoah, VA and was the son of the late Floyd, Sr. and Virginia Andrews Freeze. He was also preceded by a nephew, Rodney Wright.
Floyd graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1958 and received his Masters in Education Degree from James Madison University. He taught at Luray High School for two years and retired from Woodbridge Senior High School in Prince William County after 25 years. He enjoyed traveling, including numerous foreign countries, playing sports and was an avid Washington Redskins fan.
Survivors include his sisters, Nancy Freeze Good and husband Kenneth and Sandy Freeze Comer all of Shenandoah; niece, Ronda Comer of Stanley; nephews, Richard Good and wife, Debbie of Elkton and Randy Good and wife, Bobbi Jo of Shenandoah and a number of extended family and friends.
Lay Vicar Bob Thomas will conduct a funeral service 2pm Friday, July 25, 2014 at the St. Paulís Episcopal Church in Shenandoah. Burial will follow in the Sam Comer Cemetery in Shenandoah.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30pm Thursday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. Friends may call or visit at the home of his sisters at anytime.
