Curtis Lynn Tusing, 82, of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Tusing was born on Jan. 18, 1927, in Lost City, W.Va., and was the son of the late Elmer D. and Sarah Alice Funkhouser Tusing.
From 1945 until 1946, he was in the U.S. Army and following his active service was in the Army Reserves until 1949. Curtis retired from Brockway in Harrisonburg, where he worked for more than 30 years. He most recently worked as a supervisor.
On Aug. 26, 1957, he married Madeline Joy Warner, who survives.
 In addition to his wife, Mr. Tusing is survived by two daughters, Mary Alice Moyers of Dayton and Nancy Lee Wegner and husband, Spence, of Loxahatchee, Fla.; one sister, Margaret Helmick of Baker W.Va.; five grandchildren, Amanda Dawn Newland and husband, Bobby, Carla Allison Moyers, Joshua Dakkar Portela, Jonathan McKee Portela and Sarah Nicole Portela; and three great-grandchildren, Christian Lee Newland, Destiny Joy Newland and Kala Erica Larson. Mr. Tusing was preceded in death by a son, David Eugene Tusing, and three sisters, Minnie Combs, Myrtle Einhorn and Bessie Patterson.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with the Rev. J.D. Glick officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens near Harrisonburg. The Tusing family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
