John Robert Haugh, 74, of McGaheysville passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. He was born on November 5, 1934 in Rockingham County and was the son of the late John C. and Beatrice Dean Haugh.
Mr. Haugh was a member of the first graduating class of Montevideo High School and was a United States Air Force Veteran. He retired from Reynolds Metals and was a member of Mill Creek Church of the Brethren.
On July 5, 1960 he married Carolyn Knott Haugh who survives, also surviving are two sons, Jeff R. Haugh and wife, Lori of McGaheysville and John S. Haugh (Steve) of King George County, VA; his sister, Peggy Claytor of Dayton and his grandson, Joshua R. Haugh.
He was preceded in death by a son, David O. Haugh and twin granddaughters, Elizabeth and Amber Haugh.
Pastor Guy Hudson will conduct a graveside service at 1:00pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Cross Keys Cemetery.
Flowers are welcome although memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
The family will receive friends this evening (Monday) from 6:00-8:00pm at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
