India Stafford Clark, 99, of Harrisonburg died on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Sunnyside Presbyterian Retirement Community following an extended illness.
A daughter of the late Millard and Mary White Stafford, she was born on Jan. 2, 1910, in Logan, W.Va.
Mrs. Clark attended Marshall College and taught first grade in the Logan and Loudoun County School Systems. She was a member of Massanutten Presbyterian Church and was involved in church activities throughout her life.
In 1929, she married Warren Wayne Clark, who preceded her in death in 1978.
Surviving family include her daughter, Florence C. Raynal and husband, H. Middleton, of Harrisonburg; three grandsons, Wayne Raynal, John Raynal and wife, Rebecca, and Clark DeSarro-Raynal and wife, Donna; four great-grandsons, one great- granddaughter, one stepgreat-granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and her brother.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009, at the Sunnyside Meredith Chapel in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at approximately 4:30 p.m. at the Falling Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery near Glasgow.
