Lisa Dawn Winegard Hensley, 48, of Elkton, passed away on Wednesday April 29, 2009 at her residence.

Mrs. Hensley was born on October 20, 1960 in Harrisonburg, VA and was the daughter of Lowell Wayne and Betty Jean Raines Winegard.  Lisa owned and operated Backroad Beauty and Tanning Salon and was a graduate of Elkton High School.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  Lisa also loved baking, gardening and working with crafts.

On July 22, 1978 she married Terry Hensley who survives.

In additon to her husband and parents, Lisa is survived by one son, Josh Hensley and wife, Robin of Elkton; one daughter, Heather Hensley of Elkton; one brother, Steve Winegard and wife, Lisa of Elkton; one sister, Cathy Wenzel and husband, Philip Retelle of Elkton; three grandchildren, Gabbi and Ryan Hensley and Alexis Ayers all of Elkton; one niece, Jillian Wenzel and one nephew, Justin Wenzel both of Elkton.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton from 6-8pm.  Friends may also visit the Hensley home at anytime.

In lieu of flowers the family welcomes plants that can be replanted in the memorial garden in her honor.

Lisa was one of the brightest, most popular and loved members of our class. If she was involved, you knew you'd have fun...from the Nerf and Crazy 8 balls we loved as kids to introducing us to a little game in sixth grade that would change our lives called 'Spin the Bottle.' A creative artist, her first beauty salon was 'Dawn's Carousel' and she made sure Greg Brady had nothing on the boys of Elkton with our shag haircuts. Even in her darkest days she could still laugh; the last time I saw her she said, "Dumb blonde jokes don't bother me because I know I'm not dumb. I also know I not blonde!" Lisa, I love you and completely forgive you for making me wear that yellow and mint green ruffled tuxedo shirt in your wedding.
