I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I cannot
begin to imagine what your family is going through. From everything that I have
read about Roy, I cant see where you could be any more proud of him. He was
truly a good kid.

If you look up in the sky at night, there will be a new star. It will be a
little brighter than the rest, if you watch it you may even see it wink.

Little Roy memory will always be a shining star in many lives. Remember his
life, his hopes, his dreams, his love for you & let the thoughts from the years
we had him comfort you.

I can't even imagine the pain you feel now but,
Little Roy would not want you to be sad forever, time will come when thinking
him will bring more smiles than tears.

You all are a very special family &
will be able to take comfort in each other. We love all of you & bless the day
your family came into our lives.

Love & Prayers,
Mark, Karen & family

Dear Smith Family Members
My deepest sympathy goes out to your family. As a
once active firefighter I am well aware of the dangers we face everyday serving
our community and friends. Take comfort in the fact that your Son was dedicated
to helping others and paid the supreme sacrifice fulfilling his dedication.
Sincerely my thoughts and prayers go out to you in this difficult time.

Our Hearts and Prayers go out to you. I worked at Noahs Little Ark, when Roy
attended Preschool there. He was always such a sweet and loving child. It
seems that he grew to be an amazing young man. I know your hearts are broken
but I pray you will find comfort in the arms of our heavenly father.

I didn't know Roy, But my son is also a fighter with Luray Fire Department. I
can only send my deepest sympathy and prayers to his family at this sad time.
Know that you are in our prayers for the days ahead and God give you strength to
endure.
Barbara Lansberry 2008-11-10 16:11:01

My thoughts are with the family and the friends of Little Roy. I went thru
school with Little Roys Father. If Little Roy was anything like his Dad... He
was a kind and carried a BIG heart.

It really makes me sad and I truly
understand the hurt in your heart.

God Bless

Dear Smith family. I was Roy's seventh grade science teacher at Montevideo. I
can truly tell you that you had a remarkable son. He was always so friendly and
polite. When our team would get together, I know that others would share in on
what a nice young man Roy was. We hear so many stories about today's youth
being in trouble and apathetic. However, I point out that your son is a shining
example of what all of our kids should aspire to be. He was on in a million! I
live and teach now near Nashville, TN, but wanted to send you my deepest
sympathies. I will pray for the lord to give you strength.

Roy and family, My thoughts and prayers are with you. I prayed that it wouldn't
be your boy but when I saw his picture I knew he had to be yours. I remembered
when he would come into the Elkton Post Office with you sometimes. The story
also made the news here in Martinsville and from the notes I have read, he was a
well loved friend of many. I pray God's peace and strength be with you.
Anne Sisson 2008-11-10 18:43:20

We are still in shock. We have talked about all of the good times we had with
Roy when he stayed at our house. We had a great time with him. He was truly a
good kid, very polite and had a great smile. We will never forget him. Just
know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Linden, Debbie, Heather, Austi 2008-11-10 18:46:40

Words cannot express my sadness at your tremendous loss. Roy was an exceptional
young man who touched many lives. I had the pleasure of getting to know him as
a student his 8th grade year in Science. I wish I could be there, but am out of
town. My thoughts and prayers go out to each of you and I pray that your
wonderful memories will, in time, help ease your pain.
Tracy Myers 2008-11-10 19:18:17

Crystal, Roy, and Familes,
So sorry to hear of your loss. What an exceptional
young man Roy had become. I have heard so many stories from his friends about
what a great person Roy was. As a parent I can not imagine having to go through
this. You all are in my prayers. I pray that God will give you and your
familes the strength to get through this.

you and your family, and Company 80. May God Bless you and help you through this
diffucult time.
The Rothgeb's 2008-11-11 13:50:08

Crystal and family- I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am for Roy Boy. I love
him like he is my own and not just a god son. He and I had many special times
together, and I will never forget that. I thank you for allowing me to be in
his life, and being his god mother. I know he is an angel now and he gave his
life doing what he loved. He wanted to always save people and that is what made
him happy. ROy Boy touched so many lives, and so many dreams were completed
because of him, and he will continue to make a differnence. I love ya and he is
always in my heart, with those green shoes !
Stacey Lotts 2008-11-12 23:22:32

Roy Jr.,
We are so very sorry for the loss of your son. It is obvious from
everything we've heard that he was a fine young man. We know that you are
proud of the person he had become. Our deepest sympathy to you & your family.
Tommy & Penny Jenkins 2008-11-13 15:01:09

Roy and family, we extend our sympathy on the loss of your son. This is a
tragic loss beyond words as we too have recently lost a son. We pray for you.
Richard & Betty Lahman 2008-11-18 08:51:06

Crystal and Roy,
You are both in our thoughts and prayers. I enjoyed
teaching little Roy in fourth grade at EES. He was a Wonderful student, always
with a smile. Our biggest enjoyment was the Burn camp ride when Steve took
Little Roy for a ride on his motorcycle at the Elks lodge. He was grinning from
ear to ear. What a Wonderful Sight that was. I would have done this sooner but
my Dad passed away the same dayas Little Roy. You both will continue to be in
our thoughts and prayers.
